General Manager says speedway eager for additional growth under new Lucas Oil Speedway President Devney

WHEATLAND, MO. (Oct. 4, 2024) - Jamie Devney, Lucas Oil’s Vice-President for Business Development since joining the company in 2006, has been named President of Lucas Oil Speedway in addition to the Lucas Cattle Company.

“I look forward to continuing working with Jamie, who I have known and worked with for a while in his role at the Ranch and with Lucas Oil Products," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said.

Lorton said the speedway day-to-day staff and operations remain unchanged under his leadership as general manager, but that Devney’s guidance will help elevate the speedway to an even larger role in the world of motorsports and high-profile events.

“We’ll be working together on new sponsorship sales and marketing plans going into the offseason and into the 2025 season and beyond,” Lorton said.

Lorton is finalizing the 2025 tentative Lucas Oil Speedway schedule which he hopes to release by the end of the month. The new HICKAMO Super Stocks will join the weekly lineup along with the Arctic Food Equipment USRA Modifieds, Clear Creek Golf Cars USRA B-Mods, O’Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars and Hermitage Lumber Late Models.

Other confirmed highlights are the return of big-time Off Road Racing with the Champ Off Road Series Show-Me Off-Road Shootout, May 2-4. Multiple Kentucky Drag Boat Association-sponsored events also will return to Lake Lucas with dates to be announced.

“Working with Jamie will allow us to continue bringing fans the racing they want to see, from the weekly series to the special events that make Lucas Oil Speedway a motorsports destination for fans, drivers and sponsors,” Lorton said.

Devney was instrumental in founding and developing Team Lucas, a strategic sponsorship and television partnership initiative that brought together key partners such as GEICO, General Tire, Rockstar Energy Drink and Toyota. This program significantly boosted the visibility and support of Lucas Oil’s grassroots motorsport series.
