Diamond Full Fender Challenge, POWRi Summer Thunder coming up Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, MO. (Aug. 12, 2024) - Fans get a racing program featuring both ends of the dirt-track spectrum - open-wheel Sprints on one side and full-bodied Stock Cars and Super Stocks on the other - this Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway.

The inaugural Diamond Full Fender Challenge will find the O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars and POWRi Super Stocks running individual programs before the 12 finishers in the respective features combine for a 24-car shootout combining the two fender divisions.

Individual features will pay $1,500-to-win. The top 12 from each of those features will then go into the $1,500-to-win, $150 to start the Full Fender Challenge. Starting positions in that feature will be determined by a drawing.

The combined feature will produce bragging rights between the two divisions with similar cars. William Garner of Lebanon has four feature wins and leads the season points for the O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars at the speedway, while Derek Brown of Stoutland earned a Lucas Oil Speedway POWRi Super Stocks win earlier this season when the division was a guest class.

Brown also was a two-time track champion at Lucas Oil Speedway (2016 and 2020 when the Super Stocks were the regular full-fender weekly class. He's also posted two USRA Stock Cars victories at the track this season.
