Final preseason Open Test & Tune set for Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, MO. (March 26, 2024) - Drivers get one final chance to test the dirt at Lucas Oil Speedway before the 2024 season goes green with an Open Test and Tune this Saturday, from 5-9 p.m.

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton noted that the practice time, which originally was set for the afternoon, has been moved to evening hours to allow drivers a better chance to experience track conditions during regular racing hours.

Pit passes are $30 and the pit office will open at 3 p.m. Grandstands will be free for spectators with pit-side concessions open from 4-8 p.m. with a limited menu.

Lorton said that transponders will be available for those who want to see their lap times on the video board. Full safety gear and RaceCeivers are mandatory and the tech building will be open for those interested in having their cars inspected before the season begin

Easter Bowl Enduro 150 opener April 6: The season begins on April 6 with the Easter Bowl Enduro 150. Starting positions for the 150-lap, $1,500-to-win Enduro will be based on order of paid entries received.

Registration is $150 and drivers can enter online or by calling into the speedway office at (417) 295-6048 and paying the entry fee via credit card. They also can print off the entry form from the website and drop it off with the fee.

Drivers will start the 150-lap race three-wide. As entries are received, Lucas Oil Speedway will occasionally post an updated starting grid on the Lucas Oil Speedway Facebook page. Pit passes for the race will be $35.

Entries will be capped at 100 for the race, which will conclude a program that also will have the Hermitage Lumber POWRi Late Models paying $1,000 to win, plus POWRi Midwest Mods and POWRi Pure Stocks, both racing for $500 to win.

The Easter Bowl 150 winner will earn $1,500 with prize money paid to the top 10 finishers with payouts: 2nd - $1,000; 3rd - $750. 4th - $500. 5th - $300. 6th - $250. 7th - $200. 8th - $175. 9th - $150. 10th - $125.

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. with spectator gates at 5, hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05.

Driver information needed: Drivers planning on racing at at Lucas Oil Speedway this season are encouraged by keep their MyRacePass profile up to date. Meanwhile, track announcer Shane Friebe is asking for them to also fill out a driver information form online. There will be a number of nights on both Flo Racing and MAV-TV broadcasts and the more information about each driver, the better.
