Lucas Oil Speedway's Ozarks Food Harvest Food Drive Night at the Races another big success
WHEATLAND, MO. (Aug. 4, 2022) - The annual Lucas Oil Speedway Ozarks Food Harvest Food Drive Night at the Races, held last month during the Big Adventure Weekly Racing Series, has proven to be another big success.
Fans donated 3,143 pounds of food that will provide 2,619 nutritious meals to neighbors who struggle with hunger in the Ozarks Food Harvest's 28-county service area, said Denise Gibson, Director of Development and Communication for the organization.
"During the summer months, when school-funded meals aren't available, your donation works even harder to keep children nourished," Gibson said in a letter to Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton. She added that the organization provides meals to more than 50,000 individuals per month.
Since 2008, Lucas Oil Speedway has collected more than 74,000 pounds of food to help provide more than 60,000 meals for Ozarks Food Harvest and their hunger-relief partner Hickory County Cares.
"We're honored to partner with Ozarks Food Harvest and it's always gratifying to see our fans rise to the occasion to help in such an important cause," Lorton said.

USMTS Show-Me Shootout this Saturday: Racing action at Lucas Oil Speedway resumes on Saturday night with the 13th annual USMTS Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout Presented by Foley Equipment. The United States Modified Touring Series stars will be competing for a $10,000-to-win main event.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars and Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods also on the program. The Stock Cars and B-Mods will be running for both USRA national and Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series track points.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Saturday with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05.
