Busy Saturday ahead as UTV Off Road Racing, Weekly Racing Series comes to Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, MO. (May 3, 2022) - A big day-night racing doubleheader is coming to Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday.

Action during the day will find the first of four UTV Short Course Off-Road Racing on the speedway's Off Road course this season.

Spectator gates open at 9 a.m. with practice at 10 a.m. and heat races starting at noon on the off road track. Classes in action will include Pro N/A, Pro, Youth 1000, Youth 570, Youth 170 Mod, Youth 170 Stock, Sportsman, Women’s and Mini Stock Truck.

Other event dates are scheduled on July 23rd, August 20th and October 15th. Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said points will be earned at each event in each class with champions crowned after the Oct. 15 event.

Weekly Racing Series Round 2: Meanwhile, Vietti Marketing Group and Wild Animal Safari team up to present Round 2 of the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series next Saturday. The Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods will be in the spotlight, running a 25-lap, $750-to-win main event courtesy of Clearlight Inn.

The Hermitage Lumber Late Models, Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds and the O’Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars also will be in action and Pure Stocks will be on the program as a special guest class, running for $300 to win.

In honor of Mother's Day, all Moms will get FREE admission courtesy of Vietti Marketing Group.

Spectator and pit gates to the dirt track will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05. Fans purchasing tickets to the off road action will be admitted free to the dirt track program.

Early points leaders in the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series divisions are Lebanon's Kris Jackson (Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods), Larry Ferris of Nevada (Hermitage Lumber Late Models), Urbana's Dillon McCowan (Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds) and Rodney Schweizer of Kansas City, Kansas (O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars).

8 a.m. - Pit gate opens
9 a.m. - Spectator gates open
9:30 a.m. - Drivers' meeting
10 a.m. - Registration closes, Practice sessions
Noon - Heats begin
(Awards follow final feature race)
