Drivers shoot for $1,000-to-win as Titans B-Mod Series visits Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday

WHEATLAND, MO. (May 18, 2021) - As the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series resumes on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway, the Ozark Golf Cars USRA-Mods will be running for extra money as part of a new, regional series for the division.

The Titans B-Mod Series, which is sanctioning 10 events in Missouri and Kansas this season, makes it first appearance at Lucas Oil Speedway for a 25-lap feature paying $1,000-to-win and $100-to-start.

Titans B-Mod Series Director Eric Atwood, a former area racer, said he’s felt for several years that the division has needed to do a little extra for the B-Mod drivers.

“Me and Ernie Leftwich (Lucas Oil MLRA Series Director) talked over the winter and got it put together and it’s gone pretty good so far,” Atwood said, noting 46 entries in the season opener at 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas. Braden Stoner of Wichita is the early points leader after the first two races.

The Titans B-Mod Series has a bit of a different format than regular weekly events with drivers posting qualifying times during hot laps to set the starting order for their respective heat races.

Lucas Oil Speedway B-Mod regulars also will earn season points and defending track champion Kris Jackson of Lebanon will look to continue his hot streak. Jackson has won three all three Saturday features in May and has surged to the points lead, four in front of Andy Bryant of Fort Scott, Kansas, with Springfield’s JC Morton trailing by 20.

Amplified Digital Presents Round 6 of the Weekly Racing Series, with Missouri Metal Buildings ULMA Late Models, Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds and the O’Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars also in action.

Dillon McCowan of Urbana, fresh off a feature win last Saturday, has taken the USRA Modified points lead by 10 over Nevada’s Chase Domer and 12 over Jason Pursley of Hermitage. Russellville’s Cole Henson has opened a 61-point lead over Dalton Imhoff of Jamestown in ULMA Modified points while Waynesville’s David Hendrix paces the USRA Stock Car standings by 78 over Darren Phillips of Wheatland.

Frogs Jr Fan Club Pit Tour: Young fans arriving early are invited to sign up for the Frogs Jr Fan Club Pit Tour. Kids ages 5-12 can sign up on the midway, behind the main grandstands, before 5 p.m. with eight names drawn for a special pit-area tour at 5:15 with flagman Mike Striegel.

They will get to meet some of the drivers, see the cars up close and attend the drivers' meeting prior to return to the midway. Each of the eight will receive a Frogs Jr Fan Club T-Shirt, checkered flag and a gift bag sponsored by RaceGear Unlimited to put items in they receive from the drivers.

Suite seats available: Fans can take in Saturday's action from a VIP Suite on the third level overlooking the front straightaway, as a limited number of individual tickets are available priced at $24 apiece. All VIP Suite seats must be pre-paid and can be reserved by calling Admissions Director Nichole McMillan at (417) 282-5984.

The suite offers prime viewing from inside, where the temperature is climate-controlled, or an outside seating area. Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price, though a host/hostess will be available to take food and drink orders throughout the evening.
