Lucas Oil Speedway seeks National Anthem singers, vendors for upcoming season
By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- Ever thought of singing the Star Spangled Banner to help kick off a Lucas Oil Speedway racing program? How about setting up your own display on the bustling midway?
Those are a couple of options to get involved for the 2019 season at Lucas Oil Speedway, with the season opener just 2 1/2 months away.
"We have a lot of ways for fans and businesses to expand their race-night experiences and get involved in unique ways," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said.
One of those is for someone with vocal talent to sing the National Anthem to begin a Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series program. Anyone interested in doing so can contact Lorton at dlorton@lucasoilspeedway.com and submit an audio recording of previous renditions.
Also on the musical front, Lorton also is seeking bands to perform at various events at the Diamond Bar throughout the season.
Meanwhile, non-food and non-drink vendor space is available on the popular Midway where businesses can display and sell their products. Booth spaces are available in 10 x 10 foot, 10 x 20 and 10 x 30 sizes, with or without electric. There are openings for one-day shows, plus two-day and three-day special events. Prices start at $150.
"The vendor spaces are a great way to be a part of the race-night experience and market your products to race fans," Lorton said. "Now is the time to reserve a space, particularly if you have a certain race-date or event in mind."
For more information, fill out the vendor application form or contact Lorton at DLorton@lucasoilspeedway.com or (417) 282-5984.
Action kicks off March 30 with an open test and tune. The Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series begins April 6 with action in all four of the weekly divisions - Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods, Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models and O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks.
