Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (Sept. 26, 2018) – The pill draw was not favorable to Harli White last weekend during the 8th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial.

White pulled a high pill to start near the rear of her heat race during both preliminary nights of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com event at Lucas Oil Speedway, where more than 50 drivers competed.

“Going into the weekend we knew the pill draw was important and it just didn’t work in our favor,” she said. “Starting in the back really hurt us. We passed some cars, just not near enough cars. We were good, but we weren’t fast enough on Thursday and Friday.”

White advanced from eighth to fifth place in a heat race on Thursday. She then placed seventh in a qualifier and sixth in a B Main.

She then maneuvered from eighth to sixth place in a heat on Friday before finishing ninth in a qualifier. The night ended with a run from sixth to third place in a B Main to come up just one spot shy of transferring into the A Main.

“We changed some things in the B Main on Friday and our car came to life,” she said. “We stayed on that same deal going into Saturday. I just didn’t feel right on Thursday and Friday. Once we got the car handling how I liked I was able to drive it harder and feel more comfortable. Saturday felt like a whole new car and it was working in my favor.”

White rallied from sixth to third place in a last chance qualifier before she won a B Main to transfer into the back of the main event. She gained a couple of positions to finish 17th in the feature.

“Overall the weekend went smooth,” she said. “We went forward and didn’t tear anything up so it was a positive.”

White will likely take this weekend off before returning to action on Oct. 5-6 at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., during the 31st annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals with the ASCS Mid-South Region.
