Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (Sept. 27, 2017) – The 7th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial was a work in progress for Seth Bergman.

“We don’t have the speed we need right now,” he said. “We were just behind all weekend and I believe no matter where you start you should be able to pick your way through the field.”

Bergman maneuvered from eighth to fifth place in a heat race last Thursday during the opening night of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at Lucas Oil Speedway. That lined him up on the pole of a qualifier, but a third-place finish relegated him to a B Main. He won the consolation race to advance into the 19th starting position in the main event.

Bergman was in contention for a top-10 result when a power steering line blew, which ended his night early. He was credited with a 19th-place finish.

The team returned to the oval on Friday for Round 2. Bergman ended sixth in a heat race before rallying from seventh to third place in a B Main. That was one spot shy of a transfer and forced him to use a provisional to start the main event 23rd.

Bergman advanced to an 18th-place result and he opened Saturday’s finale by passing two cars to finish fourth in a qualifier. He then ended third in a B Main to transfer into the 22nd starting position for the main event.

Bergman gained a half-dozen positions to finish 16th.

He will return to action with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this Saturday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., for the Midwest Fall Brawl. Bergman finished third in September 2015 during his most recent race at the track.
