Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (Sept. 27, 2016) – Jamie Ball and the White Lightning Motorsports team traveled to Lucas Oil Speedway last weekend for the first time ever as the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour showcased the Hockett/McMillin Memorial.

“We tried to enter the weekend with an open mind and not too high of expectations with it being our first time at Lucas Oil Speedway,” he said. “We knew there were going to be a lot of cars there and some tough competition.”

Ball opened the tripleheader weekend on Thursday by placing fifth in a heat race before charging from ninth to second in a B Main to transfer into the feature. That lined him up in the 22nd starting position for the 25-lap main event.

“We were able to move forward in the main event and log important laps to add to our notebook,” he said.

Ball advanced a half dozen positions to post a 16th-place finish.

He returned to the track on Friday and placed third in a heat race and eighth in a qualifier. That relegated Ball to start second in a B Main, in which he ended sixth.

The weekend concluded on Saturday, when the action got off to a rough start as Ball got upside down in his heat race. That sent him to a B Main, where he advanced from 15th to ninth to close the weekend.

“We were able to put ourselves in the A Main the first night, but struggled the rest of the weekend,” he said. “But we made good adjustments and learned from our first trip and it has prepared us for the next time we race there.”

Ball is slated to compete this Saturday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., for the Midwest Fall Brawl V with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
