SAPULPA, Okla. (September 20, 2016) Taking on both Sprint Car and POWRi Midget action atop the quarter-mile I-30 Speedway this past Saturday night, Blake Hahn garnered his 18th top-five run of the season, as well as brining his overall top-tens on the year to 35 as Blake’s night ended with a fourth place run in Sprint Car competition and an eight place showing with the POWRi West Midgets.

“Overall, it was a great night. I really like I-30 and they had the track just about perfect for the A-Features,” stated the driver of the Lucas Oil / Wesmar No. 52. “The track was narrow starting off, but we were able to move forward in both classes to avoid having to run B-Mains.”

“In the Sprint Car, I was able to run top or bottom. I felt like we should have finished at least third, but I just about junked it racing with [Tim] Crawley and [A.G.] Rains. I had a run on A.G. and tagged his Left Rear and that dropped me back to about eighth or ninth. I was able to run them down, but they cut the race short because they through we were about to get hit with rain.”

Making whole sale changes to his Midget after debuting the new mount in August at Creek County Speedway, Hahn was pleased with the results.

“The car was way better. We had the suspension geometry off at Creek so it made the car really bouncy but it stuck and went this weekend. Just made a few mistakes on the cushion otherwise I think we would have come away with a pair of top-five finishes.”

Onward to $10,000 to win Hockett/McMillin Memorial at the Lucas Oil Speedway, Hahn will set sights on mastering the three-eighths mile oval for the first time. In National Tour competition, Hahn has made eight A-Feature appearances at Lucas Oil Speedway with a trio of top-tens’ to show for it.

“I love Lucas Oil Speedway, but it’s a track where you have to have some luck and we just haven’t had it so this weekend we are looking to turn that around. To win the Hockett/McMillin would be huge for this team especially with drivers that are going to be there.”
