Inside Line Promotions – BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (Sept. 19, 2016) – Johnny Herrera certainly knows how to get around Lucas Oil Speedway.

Herrera has recorded 10 top-10 finishes at the ‘Diamond of Dirt Tracks’ since September 2011.

“That’s one of the best tracks that we go to,” he said. “The facility is top notch and the track usually features great racing so we always have it circled on the calendar.”

Lucas Oil Speedway is next up on the calendar as the 3/8-mile oval in Wheatland, Mo., hosts the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this Thursday through Saturday for the Hockett/McMillin Memorial.

“It’s a big event and a special race honoring two great guys,” Herrera said. “We were fortunate to win the event a couple of years ago and our goal for this weekend is to bring back another Hockett/McMillin Memorial trophy.”

Herrera was victorious during the 2013 edition of the race. It was one of his four top 10s in the last nine races at the semi-banked track.

“It’s always a confidence booster to head to a track where you’ve won before,” he said. “We’re coming off a win, too, so we’re excited for the challenge this weekend.”

Herrera won his most recent race – Sept. 10 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
