Podium Finish Highlights Weekend For Blake Hahn Racing

SAPULPA, Okla. (May 10, 2016) Taking on Lakeside Speedway for the first time with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network on Thursday, May 5, Blake Hahn came close to picking up his first National Tour victory of the 2016 season; ultimately settling for the runner-up spot by Brian Brown.

“Overall it was a good night, I just got out experienced there at the end,” said Hahn. “Brian Brown is tough to beat so I’m not too mad to finish second to him. After he got by me, I started watching how he was going through the corners and I figured out what I was doing wrong, especially in the middle of one and two where the hole was.”

Hahn’s first podium finish of the season against the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, the finish moved the Lucas Oil No. 52 to sixth in tour standings.

Returning to competition on Saturday, May 7 at the Lucas Oil Speedway in the Impact Signs Open Wheel Showdown with the ASCS Red River and Warrior Regions, Hahn salvaged a Top 10 finish after spinning in the early stages of the A-Feature.

“That was on me. I was running the bottom and missed the line through turn two and rather than drift it up the track, I tried to pinch the car back down and when I did, I just went around,” said Hahn of the spin. “I kept the car going and we able to come back a little bit. We definitely had a top-five car, the driver just screwed up.”

On this week’s docket is the Texas World Dirt Track Championship at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. Blake’s best finish at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track came last year with a 10th place finish.
