Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (Sept. 30, 2014) – Josh Baughman had a frustrating weekend during the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway.

“We haven’t been real good there all year,” he said. “We missed some setup things and I had some driver errors. All weekend we kind of struggled. We were better than we were in the past, but we still weren’t where we want to be.”

Baughman opened the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader on Friday by finishing second in his heat race, which earned him enough points to lock the Jason Johnson Racing entry into the main event.

“We fell back for a little and then we started running the bottom and passed some cars,” Baughman said. “I got in line and that was as far as we got.”

He ended with a 15th-place result, which marked his 24th top 15 of the season.

The weekend concluded on Saturday with Baughman finishing fourth in his heat race to kick off the night.

“In the heat race we started on the outside,” he said. “It had slicked off. The guys on the inside found some moisture. We didn’t get as good of a start. Going into turn one we were fourth to the guys starting first, third and fifth.”

That relegated him to a B Main. He then finished where he started – eighth – to miss a transfer.

“It was just around the rim and there wasn’t a lot of passing,” he said.

Baughman will take the next couple of weekends off before competing Oct. 17-18 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
