Lucas Oil Speedway "Thursday Night Thunder" Kids' Night
Kids' Night at Lucas Oil Speedway on Thursday, July 5 will feature a drawing during intermission for bicycles for youngsters, ages 5-12 who are part of the Frog's Junior Fan Club.

Wheatland, Missouri (June 27, 2018) - It will be a big night for kids when Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series action resumes on July 5 at Lucas Oil Speedway.

Track officials are hoping to give away at least 100 bicycles to youngsters ages 5-12 in the annual Kids' Night event. The giveaway is part of the Frog's Signs Junior Fan Club for ages 5-12 and during the "Thursday Night Thunder" Program Presented by Casey's General Stores and KY3.

Youngsters can sign up for the Frog's Signs Junior Fan Club on the midway upon arrival at the speedway. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7. The drawing for bicycles will be held during intermission.

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton is asking drivers, crew members, sponsors and fans to donate new bicycles or contribute money toward purchase of the bikes. Several drivers have taken to social media in an effort to spread the word about bicycle donations.

"Hopefully we can top last year number of 85 bikes given away to the kids," Lorton said, noting that both boys' and girls' model bikes are being accepted. They can be brought to the track during the Lucas Oil Invitational Amped Up Bull Riding Tour event this Friday and Saturday or to the speedway office during weekday business hours.

"The best way to donate now is to buy a new bicycle and bring it with them this week if attending the pro bull ride event or just bring it next Thursday on the day of the event," Lorton said. "It's almost too late now to mail in cash donations, but they will be accepted and I can buy bikes up to the day of the event."

For questions or more details, contact Lorton at the Lucas Oil Speedway office (417) 282-5984 or via email at DLorton@LucasOilSpeedway.com.

A big fireworks show, courtesy of AM Pyrotechnics, also is scheduled for after the action that night. On the track, drivers will battle in the Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, the Big O Tires Street Stocks, and the Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods. The Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models will be the featured class of the evening as they run a special 25-lap, $1,000 to win main event courtesy of Rains Ice.

Fans can pick up $2 discount coupons for admission at participating area Casey's stores.

This weekend, the Amped Up Pro Bull Tour makes its first appearance at Lucas Oil Speedway, with events Friday and Saturday night on the infield at the dirt track. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. both nights.
