The Hickory County Fair wrapped up and the NBRA North/South Shootout completed day one of action. The Lucas Oil Weekly Championship Series hit the Diamond of Dirt for one of the best nights of racing in 2013, a large display of fireworks set to patriotic music, capped off a spectacular day in Wheatland, Missouri. Wheatland, Missouri - June 24th, 2013 - After months of preparation the Hickory County Fair will come to life once again, at Lucas Oil Speedway on Thursday night,June 27th. A dedicated group of community members have joined with the Hickory County Community Improvement Foundation and Lucas Oil Speedway to revive the county fair, which has been absent from the area for more than 15 years. The three-day event is presented by Heritage Tractor and ProtectTheHarvest.com. A full midway of carnival rides, games, vendors, a quilt exhibit, crafts, displays, farm equipment and livestock, will open Thursday at 5 PM. Special contests and competitions plus LIVE concerts will highlight each day of the fair.
Wheatland, Missouri (June 25th, 2013) - Lucas Oil Speedway is the place to be this holiday weekend! Saturday, June 29th the NBRA (National Boat Racing Association) North/South Shoot Out on Lake Lucas will welcome boats and pilots from across the country for the second annual event. Two full days of boat action will conclude with the feature events held on Sunday, June 30th. The purpose of the National Boat Racing Association is to, actively promote the sport of stock and modified outboard hydroplane and runabout racing by encouraging and advancing safety, increase the awareness of the sport and expanding its competition. The boats are much different than the drag boats as these are small boats where the pilot kneels while driving in an elongated circle. This type of boat racing is similar to the setup of dirt racing. They will run multiple "heat" races with several boats on the water at once and then run a final feature to end the show.
