2009 LUCAS OIL SPEEDWAY SCHEDULE
The Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO has issued the following tentative schedule for the 2009 season.
“I’m excited to finally get all the special dates nailed down and in place,” said Randy Bowman, General Track Manager. “We are excited once again to offer what has been called some of the Best Weekly Racin’ in the Nation not mention some awesome specials.”
Among those special events is the race that puts the sparkle in the Diamond of Dirt Tracks, the Super Clean Diamond Nationals on May 8th and 9th. As always this will be the first of two appearances for the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models and will include the O’Reilly MLRA.
Speaking of the O’Reilly MLRA presented by Lucas Oil Products, they will make several appearances this season as well as the USMTS and the new Lucas Oil ASCS. The ASCS race will be one of many nationally televised events this season.
“We are really trying to concentrate on dirt track racing this season,” said Bowman. “We are one of the top 3/8 mile dirt tracks in the Nation, anytime we vary too far away from that, we are simply not doing justice to the facility, our racers or fans.”
In fact the only time speedway ventures from the circle track format this season is for the Lucas Oil Pro-Pulling League. But they are certainly worth the detour as they bring the top pullers from around the country in for an ESPN2 broadcasted pull. This season’s one-day event has already been billed as one of the largest payouts in pulling.
